Shari Shink Invited to the White House
Shink (2016) a trailblazing advocate for abused and neglected children and Founder of the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, attended the White House Foster Care Hackathon where leaders in child welfare partner with innovative technology experts to “hack” challenges in child welfare and create better outcomes for youth who age out of the foster care system.

 

 

Maria Guajardo receives  Lifetime Achievement Award
Guajardo (2010) is an advocate for children locally, nationally and internationally. The University of Denver grants the award to alumni who demonstrate special career or personal achievements, are leaders in their field and have made outstanding contributions to their field.

 

 

Miriam Goldberg celebrates her 100th Birthday
Governor Hickenlooper declared May 18th, 2016 Miriam Goldberg Day.  Goldberg (1987), editor and publisher of Intermountain Jewish News, is known nationally for her leadership in print media.  She helped turn a failing business into a Denver institution, invented the special issue including the “Very Important Women” supplement.

 

 

Ellie Greenberg Honored
On Thursday August 25 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Branch Library, the Latina Legacy Circle Celebration will recognize Dr. Elinor Greenberg, educator and women’s and civil rights leader for her support of Latinas and for creating a multicultural women’s movement in Denver.  Wine, beer and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Gudrun “Gudy” Gaskill dies at age 89


Gaskill (2002), known as “Mother of the Colorado Trail,” died in July at age 89.  She inspired and recruited volunteers from every state and many nations to build the three foot wide, 500 mile long trail from Golden to Durango, one segment at a time.  A project that took 25 years from conception to completion.

 The four month long exhibit at Denver Public Library allowed the Hall to reach the largest audience in its 30 year history, to form new partnerships, meet new people and make new friends.

Arapahoe County Courthouse Portrait Exhibit
The Hall has over 50 portraits on display in the Arapahoe County Courthouse at 7235 S. Potomac in Centennial through September 30. The portraits are located on the main floor of Courthouse 1 and 2, in the annex between the two buildings and in the jury assembly room. Visitors must pass through security to view the exhibit, but it is free and open to the public.
